Chris Kajani

Winemaker and General Manager

Chris is a proud Napa native who grew up raiding her parents’ wine cellar and riding the neighbors’ horses (though not necessarily in that order). She started her career in biotech, but wine drew her inevitably home. A few too many trips to European wine regions led to wistful dinner party comments, which led to working harvests — and she was back at UC Davis for a Masters in Viticulture and Enology before she knew it.

Like the Copelands, Chris fell hard for Burgundian wines, and she built her winemaking career around crafting worthy California cousins. After almost a decade working with Carneros Pinot Noir and Chardonnay as Saintsbury’s winemaker, she joined the Bouchaine family as head winemaker and general manager in 2015. Today, her passion and authenticity set the tone for her team. Pick for flavor. Get serious about the details. Don’t take shortcuts. And above all, enjoy the wine.

Erik Goodmanson

Associate Winemaker

Winemaking wasn’t on Erik’s radar until someone told him at a dinner party about enology classes at a local community college. Once it registered that people actually could get paid to make wine, he was all in. Community college classes turned into a full-time cellar position at Robert Sinskey Vineyards, crafting Pinot Noir and cool-climate varietals from Carneros.

After completing a second bachelor’s degree in Viticulture and Enology at UC Davis, Erik worked his way up from cellar intern to Assistant Winemaker at Staglin Family Vineyard. But in 2015, Erik returned to the elegant varietals closest to his heart. His playful enthusiasm and commitment to excellence dovetail perfectly with Chris’s priorities — raising the bar on quality, and making fabulous wines.

Brian Allard

Direct to Consumer Director

Brian’s early days in Vermont were split between his family’s distribution business and the golf world, one imparting a sense of tradition, the other diligence and patience.

Back then, East Coast restaurants offered extensive European wine lists with aged red wines, and so the tradition of cellaring wines impacted his soul with elegance early on.

By the time California wine country fully formed his palate twenty years later, Brian had managed three restaurants, one hotel, a small children’s charity, and his own design company. He traded fashion for the wine world in 2013, and gained full-geek status after graduating with a Wine MBA in 2016.

Luis Corro

Direct to Consumer Manager

Born and raised in St. Helena, Luis has been surrounded by wine his entire life. From playing in the vineyards to helping his family during the summers, his love for the wine business was fostered at a young age. Wine is a passion that runs through his blood; his family has been in the industry for over 35 years.

Luis has over 14 years of experience working with wine, quickly making his way to managing a tasting room in Napa Valley. He is fascinated with the agricultural aspect of wine, but thrives on the hospitality side — his priority is to ensure that guests have the best experience at Bouchaine.

In his spare time, Luis loves to learn about all different areas of wine while enjoying a nice bottle of Bouchaine Pinot Noir!

Annie Trimpe

Office Manager

Annie has always enjoyed being the “go-to” person throughout her administrative career. If you don’t find her at her desk, she might be helping in the Tasting Room, assisting our Wine Club customers, delivering wine to accounts, or doing whatever it takes to keep everything running smoothly at the winery.

Annie is an avid dog lover and brought Lucy, her yellow labrador, to work every day.

Lucy: November 3, 2004 – March 13, 2021.

Best and sweetest dog ever! We miss you.

Irene Ubaldo

Accounting Manager

A winery is full of beautiful things. Tasting rooms, oak barrels, stainless tanks, and the list goes on and on. But one of the most beautiful things that makes a winery run is something you cannot see. It’s the numbers.

At Bouchaine, our accounting is made beautiful by our own Irene Ubaldo. Irene’s extensive accounting history was previously hidden among the high-rises of the city, but she did some important math and the switch to Bouchaine certainly added up. She traded long commutes for a gorgeous, scenic vineyard view, just minutes away from where she lives.

When Irene’s calculator takes a rest for the day, she likes to enjoy the Napa Valley by tending to her garden, going for a walk, biking around her neighborhood, or experimenting with new food recipes to pair with her favorite Bouchaine wines. And when she’s ready for more math, it’s 1 bottle of Pinot Noir minus 1 cork equals a beautiful evening.

Scott Stowe

National Sales Manager

What does citrus, cattle and surfing have in common? That is how Scott Stowe spent his childhood in Southern California, splitting time between a ranch and the sea. Throw in a lot of time on the baseball diamond, a love of science, and a mother who believed “you should always cook with a glass of wine in your hand,” resulted in Scott’s distinguished career in the wine industry. He has held positions on both coasts, working with Kendall-Jackson Wine Estates, St. Supery Vineyards, Mendocino Wine Company, Truett-Hurst, Luna Vineyards and Pacific Highway Wines before joining the Bouchaine family.

Social by nature, Scott enjoys his career as it allows him to meet new people, drink delicious wines and then sell even more. When he’s away from the winery, Scott spends as much time as possible cooking with his family, walking with his dog and, if possible, playing a round of golf.

Scott Phillips

Sales Manager — Delaware

Scott Phillips is Bouchaine’s Sales Manager for Delaware. After graduating from the University of Delaware with a B.S. degree in Political Science, Scott initially had plans to attend law school. That was until he began working full-time at a local retail wine & spirits shop. That wine & spirit shop tugged at his heart, and turned what once was a part-time college job into a 30-year career.

Scott focuses on customer service and fine wine. He enjoys meeting with people and participating in wine tastings to discuss Bouchaine. He developed his wine knowledge by personally traveling to where the grapes are grown, and meeting with winemakers in California, Spain, France, and Italy. Scott’s motto is, “there are great days and there are grape days”! He adds, “My mother is Italian and we always had a bottle of wine on the table, which signified the good life for us”.

Scott will direct his great days selling Bouchaine wines, and building special relationships with local restaurants and liquor stores throughout the “grape” state of Delaware.
